The first leg of the journey, in July 2016, was far quicker than expected, due to uncharacteristically serene weather. This meant I had extra time in the archives, as well as opportunities to meet more Shetland writers than I’d expected. Once the book chapter was drafted, I wrote a blogpost about the journey, using some of the photos.
This page is the one place that features a full selection of shots along the Shetland coastline. Images run from north to south, starting with Unst & Muckle Flugga, ending (except for a visit to Foula) at Sumburgh Head. Click on the thumbs for a proper look.
