The first leg of the journey, in July 2016, was far quicker than expected, due to uncharacteristically serene weather. This meant I had extra time in the archives, as well as opportunities to meet more Shetland writers than I’d expected. Once the book chapter was drafted, I wrote a blogpost about the journey, using some of the photos.
